By ensuring that every field team member has certain core pieces of equipment, we can rely on each other to be safe and effective in rescue operations. Additional technical rigging and medical equipment is almost always carried, and your operations or team leader can modify your equipment load-out based on the situation.

For new candidates, focus on the mandatory summer checklist. You will be required to present every item for your pack check from the summer mandatory section. If you become a new candidate, you will have several weeks before your pack check is conducted. During that time you will have ample opportunity to see what other current team members are using, which can provide you some guidance on your own equipment choices.
